How do I request a traffic signal plan at a signalized intersection?
To obtain a traffic signal plan, please e-mail request to
MATHR001@ci.hartford.ct.us or
call 311 to place a request. Please make sure to include the signalized
intersection name in the request. If electronic copies of the plan are
available, DPW will e-mail the plan back to the respondent. 24”x36” printouts of
traffic signal plans can also be requested for a $10.00 fee.
How do I request traffic camera video footage for a particular incident?
DPW does not record any traffic monitoring video footage.
How do I report traffic signal timing problems or issues?
Please call 311 to report the issue. Make sure to include the signal location
and a detailed description of the problem or issue.
How do I report a traffic signal is flashing?
Please call 311 to report the issue. Make sure to include the signal
location.
How do I report burned out traffic signal bulbs and pedestrian signal
bulbs at signalized intersections?
Please call 311 to report the issue. Any bulbs that are burned out at
signalized intersections are replaced with LED’s as soon as possible. To report
traffic signal bulb burnouts, please provide signal location, which direction
the bulb is located at signal (east, west, north, south), bulb color (red,
yellow, green), and bulb size (12 inch or 8 inch bulb). To report pedestrian
signal bulb burnouts, please provide the signal location and intersection corner
where bulb is located (or a landmark).
How do I report pedestrian crossing time at a traffic signal to cross the
street is insufficient?
Please call 311 to report the issue. DPW reevaluates and adjust timings as
needed. Constituents are advised to cross the street at the beginning of the
pedestrian phase, not when the signal is blinking don’t walk.
How do I request a traffic signal installation at an unsignalized
intersection?
Please call 311 to place the request. DPW performs a traffic signal warrant
analysis, based on Federal standards, to determine if a signal is warranted at
the intersection.
